Lions Raise Money and Support

September 28, 2011 - Brandon Chadock
The Sistersville Lions Club participated in two recent community events to raise money and support for their work. The two events were the annual Oil and Gas Festival held the weekend of Sept. 16th and the Marble Fest held the weekend of Sept. 23rd. Both attract area, state and national participation and are held in Sisterville. The Lions Club sponsored a cornhole tournament and raffle for a customized cornhole set at each event, with great participation and support from the members. Pictured here are the winners of the Marble Fest tournament, from left to right, third place team: Larry Price and James Lower; first place team Eric Hess and Lionel Potts; and second place Team Jason Hood and Dave Fox. The first place winners, each team member, received a $25 gas card, donated by Lions Club President Linda Leasure and Club Member Marlene Patterson, who was a major support in organizing and conducting the events.. The second and third place teams received signature marbles, courtesy of Jim King, Marble Fest event organizer. The cornhole set was won by Sistersville resident Dan Marrin.
