Hello!

February 27, 2009 - Jo Anne Jung

Hello there! Not being a journalist by profession, I hope that those who read my blogs will be lenient in their criticism. I will do my best to keep them light and entertaining.

First of all, I’d like to tell you a little about who I am. I’m the voice you hear on the phone when you call our office, and usually the first one you see when you stop by. Or you may see me sitting at my desk when you drive by our office, as I have an excellent view of the corner of Wells and Charles streets.

Originally from a small town north of St. Clairsville, Ohio, I moved to Sistersville in November of 2007 when I married my husband, Jim. For nine months after our marriage, I made the daily commute to St. Clairsville to work at Steele Insurance. While I miss the people that I worked with at the agency, I’m grateful to have found a job so close to home.

And what a job I have! I get to talk to subscribers who live all over the country, I get to visit with people who stop in either for a business matter, or just to say hello. I work in a low-key environment with a group of very nice and talented people. Who could ask for more?

I just love this town. It’s not fancy, or fast-paced, but it’s a great place to live. Jim and I have spent a lot of evenings sitting on our sun porch after work drinking coffee and talking about our day. We’re both anxious for the warmer weather to arrive so that we can get our yard in shape for the summer. We did a little walkabout recently, and we made note of all the things that need to be done. I also noticed that the bulbs I planted last year are starting to come up. Which is good. I’m tired of winter, as I’m sure everyone else is also.

Today is such a gloomy day. It’s the kind of day when you want to be home snuggled on the couch, snoozing. But it’s not cold out, I’ve been hearing birds chirping in the mornings, and I know that Spring is on its way. That’s enough to brighten up the day.

I don't have anything else to say except this; if you're out and about, stop in and say hello.  We love meeting our subscribers!
